ATOMIC HAWX ULTRA XTD 130 Alpine Toruing Boots

$799.99 $950.00

Description

The pinnacle of the all new Hawx lineup, the Hawx Ultra XTD 130 is the new reigning champ of alpine boots that tour. Yeah, this thing feels alpine in every way, until you flip the walk mode and enjoy a surprising range of motion and a sub 1500 gram weight. We have been confused in the past as to why an alpine brand couldn't make their badass boots just break easily at the cuff to get you to your line, and then lock back up for the send. The Hawx ends our confusion.

The Hawx 130 is a reinforced Grilamid shell that clamps down tight with four lightweight yet diesel buckles. The liner and shell are both Atomic Memory Fit moldable providing excellent customization. Skywalk rubber soles under the toe and heel of the boot are suplemented with frictionless Walk-to-ride pads for precise function and release in any WTR compatible alpine binding. Dynafit certified tech toe and heel pieces lock you in securely for your tech touring days. The walk mode is initiated by raising the very simple and time tested rear lever and then pivots freely on the large frictionless pivot cuffs.

The Hawx 130 is stiff, no bs. It's right there or stiffer than the Dynafit Vulcan with the tongue in and the Salmon MTN Lab. If you're a smaller skier and/or want to be able to feel your ski at slower speeds or during medium shaped turns, check out the more forgiving Hawx 120. This is a great boot for bigger skiers or those that frequently ski fast and jump off of things. Or those of you that can't give up the feel of your old Redsters or Dobermans from your alpine racing days. Also an awesome boot for mechanized (lift, sled, cat, heli) backcountry access or for those that will spend a lot of time in alpine bindings driving a heavy ski. All of this in such relatively low weight? The times they are a changing.
