When I heard that Atomic was making touring skis, I wondered if they would tour well because the company has such a stellar downhill reputation, but a relatively untested uphill one. We are here to tell you that Atomic has not only figured out the uphill side of backcountry ski manufacturing, but are excelling at it. The Backland UL 85 all around backcountry touring ski is one such example. You will find that at a 85 mm waist, combined with an ultra light wood core that the ski is light weight and tours exceedingly well. Add to that a lightweight Carbon Backbone for increased control and edge grip, plus the All Mountain Rocker and Step Down Sidewall, and you find yourself with skis that are machines on the downhill as well. They can easily handle any type of snow condition, from Atomic's home turf on the piste, to the backcountry as well. Don't just take our word for it, get out on these slayers and have a blast wherever you get your kicks.
