Description

KISS- Keep it simple, skiers with the Atomic Backland binding providing you the ease and strength for all your missions. Atomic/Salomon have been testing their tech binding with team athletes for a couple of years and have nailed it with this rendition. The Backland Tour is a fully functional, almost pure aluminum tech binding coming in at less than 300 grams without the brake. They managed to do this without compromising on downhill performance, as the wider mounting pattern maximizes power transmission for aggressive skiing while also strengthening retention.

The toe piece includes a fool proof metal step-in guide, leash loop, and standard tech/Dynafit style crampon acceptor. The heel unit provides an impressive 30 mm BSL adjustment with three different climbing positions for varying pitches of the skin track.  Three levels of release adjustability allow you to easily swap our the heel U spring to increase or decrease retention, roughly correlating to standard 6, 8 and 11 release values. The brake is an add-on and must be mounted with the heel unit while remaining easily removable if you change your mind and want to go brave and brakeless. This is a bomber, highly functional, and lightweight ski touring and mountaineering binding that has found it's way on to many of our personal setups!

Also check out the same but blue painted Salomon MTN  if gray doesn't quite match your skis or steeze.

Atomic Backland Cascade Storm

Got out on new atomic backland binding this week after a huge cascade range dump. Rue are mounted on Voile Super Chargers and that’s a whole story too!! The binding were super easy to step into with the front toe piece to line up boot pins. The rear of the binding worked like a dream, the binding rotates easily from walk to ski position and locks in firm when it’s time to head downhill.

Work great!

I got these bindings and immediately took them out that day. compared to my other set of bindings these are easier to step into and easier to transition from walk to ski and vice versa

Great bindings

They're easy to get into and out of. The two piece climbing risers work very well. They're also light, but feel solid on the downhills. I don't have a lot of time on them, but they're 5 star so far.

Ask a Question: Every now and then while I’m skinning the binding goes into ski mode which forces me to then have to push it to correct. Any tips here?

The binding works great. It feels very secure and gives great degree of motion.

Atomic Backland Tour Binding

Just used them two days up to now but the breaks keeps setting to on while going uphill when I hit the brake with my other ski. It is a little bit too much sensitive to going in break position when you hit it by mistake. I may juste remove the brakes if they keep doing that and use a leasch.
