Professional quality avalanche tools in one package, ready for you to hit the backcountry.
The center of this package and all avy gear is the beacon. The PIEPS DSP Pro is their most fully functional offering. The Pro model boasts double the battery life of other PIEPS offerings (and most other beacons) at 400 hours in send mode with three AAA batteries. The Pro's smart transmitter adjusts signal to allow for the easiest solution in a multiple burial scenario. The Pro also has a built in inclinometer to help asses slope angle. The Pro also meets or beats many other industry standards with a 60m range, multiple burial flagging, and auto revert from switch to send. This beacon carries well in the comfortable harness or pocket, coming in at a svelte 200 grams.
The Evac 7 is Black Diamond's top of the line shovel. Anodized aluminum makes for a highly durable construction. The blade can be attached in either shovel or hoe positions- the later being particularly useful in secondary clearing positions or steeper depositions. The handle is telescoping and has a D-ring grip with dual density rubber. All of this weighing in under 800 grams.
The Quickdraw Carbon 320 probe has the length for the deepest of snow packs, in a compact and light package. The oversize diameter makes the carbon stronger, and allows for large 1cm lettering for better visibility. We really like thelarge, easy to grab deployment loop. The probe can be whipped from the pack by grabbing the loop and the speed ferules allow for an extremely quick deployment into the click lock deployed position. The oversized plunge makes for easier plunge and upwelling, particularly important in compacted avy debris. This probe weighs 385 grams, practically disappearing in your pack
