Description

The Blizzard Zero G 85 Alpine Touring Ski is a lightweight ski designed to crush big objectives and get you back down with a smile on your face. Thanks to the lightweight carbon/paulownia core this ski tips the scales at 1100 grams (171 cm), so you'll be fresh at the top of the skin track. When you pull your skins and switch into reward mode the careful focus on downhill performance will surprise you with the consistency and confidence-inspiring feel of every turn. To achieve such a light construction while still maintaining downhill performance, Blizzard has introduced another iteration of its carbon drive. Carbon Drive 3.0  reinforces the Paulownia wood core with two sheets of uni-directional carbon that wrap the full length of the ski. this benefits the skier by providing torsional stiffness for superb edge grip. Additionally, this gives a consistent flex pattern for stable turns in a variety of snow conditions. The mounting zone is reinforced with Titanal and bi-directional carbon plates for bomber binding retention. All this carefully crafted engineering combines to form a ski that is a versatile tool. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better-performing ski in this weight category.

Ski Mountaineering Tool

These skis are a powerful tool for light and fast ski mountaineering. A traditional shape with a bit of tip rise, plenty of camber underfoot to hold an edge on steep terrain, a durable sidewall construction, all at 1100 grams! You can ski 50° terrain on this bad boy with confidence while it only weights 10% more than a liter of water. Granted, this is an advanced/expert level ski, it's not easy to initiate a turn and doesn't butter or slarve. But if you want a reliable ski that can manage tough terrain at a featherweight, look at this sweet ski. A tip notch would be nice for such a lightweight style of stick, but I understand that isn't Blizzards style. I think the perfect pairing for this light and fast ski mountaineering machine is a ski trab gara titan (color match because aesthetic matters), a Scarpa F1 LT (or Alien RS if you can find one!) and the Pomoca race 2.0 skins. My palms are sweaty just typing that. Powerful ski for expert skiers possible of HUGE mountaineering missions.
