The Euro's are not known for their extremely wide "water ski" powder sticks. Rather, they tend to gravitate towards a narrower underfoot ski that is more suitable for carving all mountain terrain. Despite all of the well deserved mockery we North Americans give them, the Euro's may actually have a little something figured out.
The Cassiar 87 Tour1 ski from the venerable ski manufacturing gods at DPS created this ski in the Euro likeness. At 87 underfoot and 1340g in a 178cm length, you get unbelievable performance at very light weight. The Tour1 construction, consisting of aerospace carbon laminate over a balsa wood core creates the difference in torsional stiffness, edge holding power, and dampening between this ski and the competition. Too often, long distance tours can be soured by a floppy skied descent. This ski enables long tours with fantastic downhills. So, go out and get some noses turned up at you when you fly past the Euro's not only on the uphill but the down hill as well.
