With skis as special as DPS, might as well have the special edition Dreamtime artwork on the top sheet. Made in the USA in Salt Lake City, DPS are the epitome of quality. Own a piece of ski history with the limited edition Wailer 106 Alchemist. Did we mention the ski rips? Read on..
A good quiver should always include a ski shape similar the DPS Wailer 106. Whether you are a British Columbia powder hound and this is your plank for the less deep days, or you chase the light and dry continental snow packs where this is a great mid winter ski option, there is a spot in the quiver for the 106 for skiers around the globe. The 106 has plenty of tip rocker, gradual early rise in the tail and moderate camber- a shape designed for any terrain or snow condition. We've had many a best day ever on this shape from deep blower to spring corn to a rip around the resort. And speaking of that resort test, we were shocked at how laid out and angulated we could get on near ice conditions. This is thanks to the incredibly torsionally stiff yet, more damp than the pure 3, Alchemist lay up.
The new Alchemist construction was created to handle mixed conditions better, mating perfectly with this shape. The Chassis flex pattern and side cut design allow for better flex around the boot and for adjusting turn shape to terrain. The new carbon layup is now vibration tuned to handle variable conditions. The pre preg carbon fiber sandwiches an Aspen core, which is then wrapped in super tough top sheets, ABS sidewalls, Rockwell steel edges, and seriously the strongest bases we've ever seen. Industry leading torsional stiffness coupled with a lightweight build translates into powerful grip when the ski is engaged as well as agility off-edge.
From spring chop to deep powder days this ski will get you to the secret stashes in the backcountry to springtime laps on the resort. The DPS Wailer 106 Alchemist will keep you capitalizing on every ski day (backcountry or mechanized) from November to May, mount one up and you'll be shocked at how little reach for anything else.
