This year, if you are keen to leave your friends in the dust, and elevate your ski mountaineering racing to the next level, then you need to seriously check out the Dy. N.A. Evo boot from Dynafit. This is a specific uphill racing boot designed with the serious racer in mind. It is constructed out of the latest lightweight and strong materials of Grilamid, Pebax, and carbon fiber and weighs about 1.5 lbs per boot, probably heavier than your tennis shoes after you stepped in a puddle. Dynafit has consistently been evolving the boot since 2009 and new for this year is a custom light liner, a sock like liner that provides unparalleled precision and comfort. The boot also features the latest in transition efficiency with the Ultra Lock 1.0 system which allows for the cuff buckle to be the ski/hike lever as well necessitating only one movement, freeing up more time for you to down a goo or get some water into your system. Another stand out feature is the short, rockered sole, the most rockered sole on the market, which allows you to utilize the boots full 62° cuff rotation.
