The ultimate uphill machine out there. The Verticalp is specifically built to be the lightest and most dedicated uphill ski out there. This would be the weapon of choice for vertical races which are lung busting uphill only suffer-fests. Fischer pulls out all of their usual stops for weight savings. Aeroshaping thins the wood core towards the edges where the wood is less important and promotes snow shedding. Air Tec Ti milling mills out extra wood in an offset pattern to ditch more pesky weight. Carbon stringers stiffen the ski back up after all of the aforementioned wood removal happens.
In addition to the weight savings technologies, Fischer employs a weight tuning system. Adjustable weights allow you to dial in the speed of the tail drop during kick turns, minimizing kick needed and general awkwardness.
If you are looking to improve the uphill part of your racing or fitness laps, the Verticalp should be near the top of your list. For the serious racers, please note that this ski is so light that pairing it with the lightest race bindings will result in a setup under the ISMF minimum weight (750 g) for non vertical races.
