G3's Ion 10 Alpine Touring Binding is designed for lighter weight skiers and or those who prefer to ski at a lower release value (release value adjustment 4-10*). The Ion 10 is built with functionality in mind: brakes, ideal for ripping laps at the resort and peace of mind in the backcountry; 3 settings for climbing height risers easy to adjust with a quick flip of your ski pole; heel pieces flush mounted with the back of your boot similar to the forward pressure provided by alpine bindings; tech toe pieces that offer one of the most secure tech toes available and are designed to minimize snow and ice buildup around the binding.
*the closer to the middle of the release value adjustment you are the more consistent release you will have. If you like to ski a binding release at 5, 6, 7 or even 8 this is a great binging for you. If you like to ski with higher retention check out the G3 Ion 12 or Dynafit Beast 14.
