You would never consider getting a high performance sports car without making sure you had the best rubber against the road when rocketing down the highway, would you? This analogy has never been more true than for the Jones Nomad Pro splitboard skins. For your Jones premium splitboard the skin choice is obvious, as they teamed up with Pomoca to offer an unparalleled skin that will have you flying to the top of any skin track.
Say goodbye to pure nylon skins that were weighing down your old setup. Mohair is a natural fiber that is lighter weight and glides better than nylon. They fold up small enough to fit in your pocket and will work in a wide range of temperatures.
But there is a reason why these skins are an ideal blend of 70% mohair and 30% nylon. The nylon offers better grip on steeper skin tracks and added durability to your skins plush. Add in the Ever Dry Anti-glopping and the Glide Tech treatments that elevate these to a level even higher than the standard Nomad skin.
Although perfect for winter snow conditions, these skins will keep you moving efficiently in the mountains even during the long spring slogs out of the biggest missions. These skins also have a laminated Rubber Safe Skin backing, preventing water absorption and making pulling the skins apart that much easier. If it seems like a lot of work goes into creating these skins, you are right, but you will appreciate it when you get to the summit with much less effort than ever before.
Jones did not stop with the Pomoca plush and the waterproof treatments, they also feature the Universal Tip Connector and their unique Quick Tension Tail Clip. The tail clip is an elastic band with a hook that fits into the notch of every Jones splitboard produced since 2016. It insures a firm connection point that will never slip. These skins come cut to length and width, refer to the sizing chart for proper fit.
Included in the package is one pair skins with Quick Tension Tail Clips already attached, two backing sheets to ensure the glue is fresh, and a skin carrying bag.

Maybe I was expecting more from my first mohair/synthetic mix split skins--these were an "upgrade" from G3 high-traction skins, but I didn't notice significantly better glide (or grip). On the plus side, they're easier to pull apart (but this makes me worry about the glue durability). On the downside, the whole universal tail clip application just sucks. It seems totally ghetto to have to cut your skins to length and then hammer in rivets through a rather flimsy piece of rubber (again, worried about the durability). For a company as pricey as Jones, I would expect a lot better. But to finish on a high note, Cripple Creek was awesome to order from!
