In the past we have always looked for ways to donate more to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center an organization that keeps us all save when traveling in winter backcountry. The CAIC could not operate the way it does without the fundraising and donations of its users. At our fundraising nights in Carbondale and Vail we have some awesome raffle prizes and auctions to raise more money, but we are always looking for ways to grow awareness and give other people that can't join us in the mountains away to support the CAIC.
This year at the COSMIC Kickoff Party at Upslope brewery there was a little contest to see who could do a full uphill and downhill transition and drink a delicious upslope beer the fastest. Cripple Creek Owner Doug Stenclik won by a narrow margin and thought it would be a great opportunity to donate an amazing pair of skis to a great cause.
This is not just a chance to grab a pair of skis at a cheap price, but rather get a high end race ski from La Sportiva and to have all proceeds donated to the CAIC.
