The La Sportiva Spitfire 2.0 is the ultimate boot for speed touring and ski mountaineering. The Spitfire 2.0 is developed from the same technology used to build the boot in the upper echelon of ski mountaineering, The Stratos. La Sportiva designed the Spitfire 2.0 to be a great cross over boot from the world of racing to the world of lightweight speed and endurance touring. The 2.0 has 68° of cuff articulation so that climbing, no matter the slope, is fluid and fast. The Speedfire Closure System uses ergal aluminium vertebra for quick transitions from walk to ski and a rigid lockout for the descent. The updated Spitfire has the 2bt Tech Last for improved fit and a lower profile boot compatible with any touring binding (Tech, TR2 and plate bindings). La Sportiva engineered this boot with their Warm Sole technology making this the warmest 2 buckle boot on the market. The updated Spitfire now also comes with the unlimited adjustability of the Pegasus buckle made popular by their top selling Spectre boot. The cuff on the Spitfire 2.0 is made with pa12 polyamide/nylon and reinforced with Carbon Fiber, hitting the sweet spot for lightweight performance and tourability. The Pebax tongue with EZ Flex technology and three different forward lean settings additionally help to ensure smooth touring and high end downhill performance all day long. Additionally the Spitfire 2.0 has a Davos Lazer Grip sole with reinforced sole and heel to prevent wear and keep up with the demands of ski mountaineering.

I have a pair of the spitfire 1.0 and I love them. No removable tongue and the back frame makes it rigid to ski. The walk mode is also fully inclosed within the shell of the boot so you don't get your pant leg stuck preventing you from going into ski mode.
The new 2.0 has some cool updates but the best part is the Pegasus Buckle borrowed from the Spectre boot. It sits high up on the shell preventing it from getting nocked around by rocks or thrown up while you are touring. This is definitely one more favorite light weight boots.
