Why is it called the Rando Race Package? Rando is short for randonee, which has unique alterative value, and is the traditional name for this budding sport (ski mountaineering racing) in the United States. But mostly it is because this is the package you will find Randy "Rando" Young, Co-Owner of Cripple Creek Backcountry out training and suffering on.
The Rando Race Package is the go to price point package for any serious ski mountaineering racer. What we really like about this package is its durability and versatility. It is light enough to be a serious contender for anyone who is thinking about podiuming at the local race, but strong enough to handle the rigors of early season training sessions on marginal snow and conditions. The skis on this package are as friendly as they come in the rando world, so an added bonus to the package is its user friendliness making it ideal for someone just getting into the sport, or wants a great lightweight package for training and fitness.
