Light, fast, durable and stiff, all the best qualities of an AT boot. No one wants to quit after just one lap, and you shouldn’t have to suffer with a loose lightweight boot that isn’t up to handling your steep and deep turns. Scott’s S1 Carbon Longfiber is an all around aggressive and lightweight touring boot that will keep you going on long tours or short laps through low angle trees.
The S1 Carbon Longfiber is composed of a Grilamid material to maintain it’s durability and stiffness when descending. With the addition of Carbon Longfiber this S1 allows for a lighter weight boot than traditional Carbon ski boots and allows the boot to maintain its rigidity while in ski mode. The addition of Longfiber is in the tongue and frame of the build up and gives you that extra snug and formed feeling like a regular downhill boot, but without adding the bulkiness and weight.
The S1 Carbon Longfiber has a 120 flex index to give you that stiffness that compares to most alpine boots. Along with a stiff flex the S1 allows for 60 degrees of cuff rotation thanks to the front loaded ski/walk mechanism. With a forward release of the middle buckle, the boot will instantly go into walk mode, providing a quick and easy transition.
The liners of the S1 are a dream to hike in and even better for downhill turns. No more sloshing around and feeling like the liner is holding in moisture, the quick drying material provides a piece of mind that all touring boots should have. You won’t have to worry about hot sweaty feet cutting your tour short. Best of all it will be ready to take on the day the morning after a long tour and big ski day.
