Description

The Karakoram Flex-Lock allows splitboarders to tour like a hard booter with improved lateral support. Flip the flex-lock into action when the side-hilling gets steep.  This device adds more lateral stiffness to any soft boot set up.  Please note that you will sacrifice some stride length when this is engaged.  

Flex-Lock is compatible with Karakoram Highbacks only. Specifically, AirFlow Highbacks, Reactive Highbacks, and Carbon Highbacks. This tool is not compatible with Voile or Spark R&D bindings.

Works as advertised

It absolutely does stiffen things up a good bit for sidehilling and it's not in the way when you flip it open. The only thing that's a little finicky is that you make the length adjustment by tying a knot in the string. Fortunately you only have to do it once. They show using an overhand knot underneath the string guide, but I tied a clove hitch around it so it's easier to undo if it needs to be adjusted again later (either for new boots, or because you screwed it up the first time)
