Why We Like the Voile V8 Backcountry Ski
The Voile V8 has been crushing so hard in the backcountry for the past 3 years, there was no reason to make any changes. Voile's "Simple, Solid, Backcountry" motto has never been more apparent than in the V8, an American-made, wood-core backcountry ski. This updated progressive design has paved the way for a seriously innovative geometry. These skis crush in-bounds but are lightweight for touring and designed for a huge range of snow conditions. At its core is lightweight Aspen wood, coupled with a carbon fiberglass layer for additional stiffening and a cap construction, allowing this ski to be wide but not cumbersome for those longer days in the hills.
These skis have a wide shovel and narrower tail allowing for great float and plenty of play in the powder while a closer sidecut radius, traditional camber underfoot, and shortened running length give it more maneuverability and control. The V8, as its name implies, is a workhorse of a ski at an affordable price, making these a great pair of skis for all-around use.
Made in the USA.
