Scarpa is back with the redesigned NEW F1. In case you lived under a rock, the F1 is Scarpa's most innovative alpine touring boot thanks to cutting edge features such as the Tronic system which enabled a no hands transition from walk to ski mode and vice versa. This system had some issues (see our review of the new F1 ) and this boot is the next iteration of the original F1. The ski boot designers took the best of the ultra light ski race technology and implemented them into a simpler, and more durable form for a boot that is really fast and light, yet, stiff enough to handle bigger skis on those less than stellar days. Some of the novel features included in this boot are a BOA closure system on the lower, which distributes pressure evenly across your foot, a reworked straightforward walk to ski mechanism (think Maestrale here but lighter and sleeker and less prone to freezing), and a single, power strap upper buckle.
These boots also come with Intuition liners and are constructed out of a Carbon Core. Of course, all the fancy stuff on boot doesn't mean bunk if your foot screams at you every time you ram it into a boot. Scarpa's wider design has been known to be the best in the industry for fitting wider feet. Pretty soon, you will start to see these boots everywhere because not only are its innovations so impressive, but it fits so well too that the boots features will soon become industry standards as Scarpa's competitor's rush to ape the qualities of this boot. We cannot wait to have these boots back in the shop and think that you will be as impressed with them as we are.
